How I hate Christianity… Let me count the ways…

I’m in the middle of finishing a little book on Christian hypocrisy and while I realize this is nothing new to write about, I’ve never known anyone to have targeted Christian parasites from their own book / bible.

I’m a PK… a preacher kid. My evangelical mother and father, ran various churches throughout their lives. While my father was a nice guy, my mom was the typical racist bigot. She was the cruel one. For every kindness my father showed, my mother showed a clenched fist.

As politics rears its head and the Christian pundits start spreading fake news and false news in order to control the masses I get tired, angry and frustrated.

I’m reminded of family members who demanded I burn books, like J.R.R. Tolkien works and role playing games. I’m reminded of the destruction of my music and art. People constantly telling me who to be and what not to be. How I let church members talk me out of college paths in genetics and bio-tech, saying such work is the work of “evil.”

Problems with Christianity

I’m going to be succinct and leave the details for my book, but let’s consider the biggest problem with the Christian faith… it never grew up.

Blood Sacrifice

Judaism grew up. Christian did not. Many Christians hold to the idea that the Earth is 6,000 years old. They cling to the need of a “blood sacrifice” for sin, but they show NO logic behind the idea.

How does killing an animal (or person) cleanse you of wrongdoing? Yet over in Hebrews it reads:

“In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” Hebrews 9:22

This refers to the blood sacrifice of animals and then ultimately to the sacrifice of the human sheesh ka bob – Jesus. By his sacrifice everyone, at every moment throughout history can be forgiven endlessly for their cruelty, hate, bigotry, racism, murder, rape and so on.

Pro-Life? Really?

How about that pro-life line up. I see it everywhere, some Christian wagging their tongue about how Jesus doesn’t want you killing the unborn… meanwhile they push for the death of other cultures.

But more to the point, I can literally point to specific passages where their wormy god demands the killing of CHILDREN. If he wasn’t killing people and their kids, he instructed it to be done in his name:

7 Then they waged war against Midian, as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed every male. 8 Among the slain were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.
9 The Israelites captured the Midianite women and their children, and they plundered all their herds, flocks, and goods. 10 Then they burned all the cities where the Midianites had lived, as well as all their encampments, 11 and carried away all the plunder and spoils, both people and animals.
12 They brought the captives, spoils, and plunder to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of Israel at the camp on the plains of Moab, by the Jordan across from Jericho. 13 And Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the congregation went to meet them outside the camp.
14 But Moses was angry with the officers of the army—the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds—who were returning from the battle. 15 “Have you spared all the women?” he asked them. 16 “Look, these women caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to turn unfaithfully against the LORD at Peor, so that the plague struck the congregation of the LORD. 17 So now, kill all the boys, as well as every woman who has had relations with a man, 18 but spare for yourselves every girl who has never had relations with a man.”

Numbers 31:7-18

Consider that passage… Verse 7 makes it very clear that this is the will of “the lord” and then 7 verses later we get the bit about the anger of Moses. He wasn’t angry because the soldiers abused women, or killed children – rather it was the opposite! He was pissed that they spared their lives. So he tells them in verse 17 kill all the men, all the non-virgins and in verse 18 he ends it with “but spare yourselves every girl who has never had relations with a man.” Basically captive rape.

Here’s a few more similar passages on treatment of captives:

“13 that troublemakers have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods you have not known), 14 then you must inquire, probe and investigate it thoroughly. And if it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done among you, 15 you must certainly put to the sword all who live in that town. You must destroy it completely,[a] both its people and its livestock. 16 You are to gather all the plunder of the town into the middle of the public square and completely burn the town and all its plunder as a whole burnt offering to the Lord your God. That town is to remain a ruin forever, never to be rebuilt….”

Deuteronomy 13: 13-19

“10 When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. 11 If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. 12 If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city.13 When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. 14 As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the Lord your God gives you from your enemies.”

Deuteronomy 20:10-14

Offenses Against Women

Why any woman would want to be a Christian is beyond me. Granted the modern Jewish people tend to dismiss this nonsense as cultural garbage of the day… but Christians believe the entirety of the bible is legit.

That’s what’s makes Christian so dangerous… they really believe the literal nature of their book. Below are a few passages that are pretty terrible in relation to women:

“20 If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the young woman’s virginity can be found, 21 she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.”

Deuteronomy 22:20-21

“23 If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her, 24 you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death—the young woman because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man’s wife. You must purge the evil from among you.”

Deuteronomy 22:23-24

28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay her father fifty shekels[a] of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.”

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NIV

“10 When you go to war against your enemies and the Lord your God delivers them into your hands and you take captives, 11 if you notice among the captives a beautiful woman and are attracted to her, you may take her as your wife. 12 Bring her into your home and have her shave her head, trim her nails 13 and put aside the clothes she was wearing when captured. After she has lived in your house and mourned her father and mother for a full month, then you may go to her and be her husband and she shall be your wife. 14 If you are not pleased with her, let her go wherever she wishes. You must not sell her or treat her as a slave, since you have dishonored her.”

Deuteronomy 21:10-14

Murder in the Name of God

Of course there’s other forms of brutality. While some Christians will chide, “this is the Old covenant, I’m covered under the blood of Jesus,” remind them that A) they claim God/Jesus is the same “yesterday, today and forever” B) They routinely source/cite the Old covenant books when needed to judge others (such as gay people) and c) ask them if they really feel that the Old Testament isn’t valid, to rip and burn those passages out of there. They’ll never do it… in their mind this is the “word of god.”

14 “Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death; those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people. 15 For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death.”

Exodus 31:14-15

9 “‘If a priest’s daughter defiles herself by becoming a prostitute, she disgraces her father; she must be burned in the fire.

Leviticus 21:9

10 “If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.”

Leviticus 20:10

9 “‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.”

Leviticus 20:9

Slavery

Christianity had no interest in changing the mechanisms of society. This idea that Jesus was against slavery is flat out wrong. He made no mention of slavery… and to even drive this point deeper, Paul the Apostle wrote in Ephesians 6:5

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Ephesians 6:5

This religion and faith was never about freedom. It was always about slavery… slavery to men and slavery to a false god.

A Grab Bag Religion

I’ve known “good” Christians… a neighbor who helped my family out in a time of need… or an open-minded fellow who defends the rights of others… while nice and all, those people are good because of WHAT THEY are, not because of what’s in their faith.

The problem with Christianity (and why it can’t really be saved), is that it is a grab bag religion. By that I mean, it’s like lego bricks. Each Christian group can pull what they want (cherry pick) out of the bible and build their own construct.

In other words, one group could build a belief that says it’s ok to marry a ton of women, killing kids is ok, but jesus saves. Another group is against killing children (pro-life) but they are also pro-slavery… after all Ephesians 6:5 says, “Slaves obey your masters.” They might become the KKK or some such.

Every Christian group picks and choses what they will accept and what they won’t. Some things they’ll toss out as cultural contamination (such as the mass murder spoken in the Old Testament books), but they’ll accept Pauls admonition for people to not feed the hungry:

10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.

2nd Thessalonians 3:10

Such as the above would be politicians like Jodey Arrington who quoted that verse in support of not giving to others. Whether or not you agree is beside the point.

The point of all this is that Christianity lacks integrity. It is not consistent and is at the whim of the user/abuser. They can muster up a few verses to defend war, or burn witches at the stake.

18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Exodus 22:18

This, right here, is why you can’t trust a Christian. You never know what you’ll get.

Worst yet is the modern Christian motto:

I’m not perfect, just forgiven…

Christian motto

Who would ever trust someone who touted they aren’t perfect, just forgiven? That means they can do whatever the fuck they want to you and then pray about it and be “clean” again.

Christianity needs to be addressed. But not addressed with jeers and random insults… but from their own wretched bible. I’ve found when I quote these bible passages to Christians they stop. They stop doing what they’re doing. I’ve done it to people engaging in harassment online…pushing their Christian creed too far… and once I quote a few of these, they stop.
